Our approach: We understand that not everyone is comfortable attending in person services but we are committed to meeting together physically each Sunday unless we encounter a situation serious enough to merit not meeting. At the moment, we do not have any active cases and we had a cluster at Immanuel. We thoroughly sanitize our facility each week and at this time are asking that any food shared or distributed on our property be prepackaged. Since the pandemic began we have not passed offering or communion plates. When items must be passed out, we have designated individuals do so wearing mask and gloves rather than letting everyone pass or touch items. We do have signage posted encouraging everyone to wear masks and maintain social distancing. We have every other row in the sancutary roped off as well as a minimum contact area for those who are in a higher risk category (read more below). Our Worship Center has a capacity of about 3,000 people and we are safely meeting at only about 10-15% capacity.
Childcare: In order to protect your children on Sunday mornings, we have our 3rd graders meeting in The Zone with our 4th-6th graders instead of Carpenter's Corner.
Mask Policy: Immanuel is within the Wichita City Limits and we are therefore under the city-wide requirement to wear masks.
Minimum Contact Worship Available: Everyone has a different level or comfort with social interaction and everyone has unique health concerns. We realize that you may be concerned for your health as well as coming across as unfriendly. We're taking the awkwardness out for you by creating a special entrance and roped off seating area for those who want to be able to come in for worship but feel the need to practice stricter social distancing precautions. In this section, masks are required throughout the worship service and everyone understands that you need some personal space but still want to be part of our church and corporate worship experience. To use this entrance, you will enter on the far north side of the worship center and use the doors facing Lincoln Park. This area contains over 250 seats and is the back, right side of the worship center.
